Spring Is Here! Is a cute little game made for my Game Design Experience class.
I did the soundtrack for the game and assisted with some of the programming. This particular game was a blast to score, especially the very jazzy canopy theme.
This was a game I made for my Foundations of Game Design class. I was the main programmer, as well as the sole music and sound designer.
I decided to go with an 8-bit theme for the sound to match our generally 8-bit graphics. Rather than use a tracker, I opted for NES-imitating VST plugins to get the retro sound.
We had a pretty short timespan to work on the project, and were limited by Construct's 50-event paywall. The theme of the assignment was "balance", and we could choose to do a clone of a retro game. The idea was you'd play as a priest converting "cultists" to your religion, but as the stages progressed, the church at the top of the screen would burn down as its members got more and more fanatical, showing that no one religion is "better" than another.
Roman, our artist, did an incredible job with the overworld and character animations. Each sprite is 64x64 and fully animated.
